Girish and The Chronicles were formed on 18th of octber 2009 in Gangtok, Sikkim (India). Already gaining some reputation as one of the best rock singers in the country, through You Tube (Search Girish Pradhan), Girish Pradhan formed this band with a motive to revive Hard Rock, Slow Rock, Blues Rock and Heavy Metal. After a few concerts and gigs in their home town such as Sikkim Area Convention Narcotics Anonymous III the band decided to start taking part in some of the major Rock festivals in the country (2010) such as Rock o Phonix - IIT Guwahati. After a few such festivals (-Pyrokinesis, Assam Engineering College; - Sinchisis, Guwahati Medical college; - Rock o Phonix, IIT Guwahati; - Eclecia, Heritage College, Kolkata; - Srijan fest, - Avalanche, ISMU Dhanbad etc.) frontman Girish Pradhan, Guitarist, Suraz Karki started gaining some great fame in the Rock music community. The band immediately star headlining some major College Festivals and such other National Rock festivals, quickly gaining a lot of popularity in the press and media and creating a big fan base. The Media became aware of this. Girish and The Chronicles’s performance at Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati, on 27th of June,
2010, was telecasted live, nationally on the NE Doordarshan channel.
The band was just doing good, when they took it to another level by representing India in the Suncane Skale festival, Montenegro, Europe. Their
song “Angel’s Angel” or more popularly known as “The Yester Years” was compiled in the Suncane Skale Music Festival album, and was telecasted in Europe for weeks in the radio and other media. This created a huge rush in the Indian media and the press giving the band a new status. The band was invited in major National Rock Festivals, College Rock Festivals, Pub Rock festivals; as headlining acts/Guest bands covering a huge part of the country and ended the year with 5 concerts in the States of Meghalaya and Assam, playing live at India Club, Guwahati on 31st of December.
This was followed by gigs around the country in places like Imphal, Bhuwaneshwar, and more. Huge fan base to the band had already become a trend. Having toured most of the north eastern and other parts of the country , the band ventured to the south of India, where they made their mark in the city of Bangalore, having performed in prestigious venues such as Hard Rock café, Kyra theatre, Jagriti theatre, Bangalore Club etc. This brought them more name and also drew a lot of fans overall even in the southern part of the country.
The band’s front-man Girish Pradhan also perfomed in the Yamaha Asian Beat held at Seoul, Korea in the month of November 2011. He was also invited to perform as a guest artist in various pubs and venues in Hong Kong.
The same month, the band also performed in the prestigious Hornbill Rock festival held in Kohima, Nagaland
The year 2012 kicked off in the month of February, “Girish and The
Chronicles” performed live at various venues in Hong Kong.
Presently, touring, Girish and the Chronicles are releasing a Rock/Hard Rock/Heavy Metal album, yet upgrading their list of ventures and Chronicles. They finished their Hong Kong tour on December 2012 and will release the album around April of 2013. The songs have been there over the internet for quite some time now, however, the released version will have a refined version of all the songs including their new works.
